Sarah Brammell receives Federal Bird Banding Permit
Sarah Brammell has received her Federal Banding and Marking Permit for the Tampa International Airport's raptor trapping and relocation project. Banding and marking efforts will provide useful information for return rates from specific relocation areas.

Virtual Wildlife Hazard Management training amid COVID-19 Pandemic
To meet FAA annual training requirements and address safety concerns, BWE worked with St. Pete Clearwater International Airport and Tampa International Airport to develop virtual wildlife hazard management training for airport personnel.

BWE develops Wildlife Hazard Management Plans for MQJ and EYE
BWE worked with Indianapolis Aviation Authority staff to develop WHMPS for two general aviation airports in their system:

BWE conducts Wildlife Hazard Site Visit - Clearwater Airpark
BWE worked Harrod Properties, Inc. to conduct a WHSV for a proposed development project adjacent to Clearwater Airpark, in Pinellas County, FL. The 3-day site visit included data collection and development of a report with recommendations to decrease potential wildlife attractants.

BWE conducts FAA Approved QAWB Training at IND
Sarah Brammell was the lead instructor for the FAA Approved 3-Day Wildlife Hazard Management Training Course for Qualified Airport Wildlife Biologists. Class participants completed 24 hours of training to meet QAWB requirements.

BWE Develops Continual Monitoring Protocol for RSW
BWE worked with LCPA staff to develop a site specific annual monitoring protocol to meet the guidance of FAA AC 150/5200-38. The protocol includes fixed-point surveys, spotlight surveys, and an annual report summarizing strike data, observations and attractants.

BWE Provides QAWB services to ACY to address State-listed species habitat
BWE worked with ACY staff and the USDA to address existing conservation areas on the airfield at Atlantic City International Airport. State-listed species habitat management on the airport was in direct conflict with airport safety requirements.

BWE Prepares a Wildlife Hazard Technical Review at IND for Proposed CEP
BWE worked with IND staff to review the wildlife hazard attractant potential of a new central energy plant (CEP) on airport property. The review included the comparison of wildlife observation data and establishing ongoing monitoring.
